Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Forest Therapy?

Forest Therapy (also called Forest Bathing) is a guided nature experience that invites you to slow down, engage your senses, and build a deeper relationship with the natural world.

It’s not a hike or a workout, it's a restorative, mindful journey led by ANFT certified guide Alissa Culbreth.

2. Where do the walks take place?

Walks take place on private land along a quiet, spring-fed creek, surrounded by forest in Cashiers, North Carolina.

3. How long is the walk?

Walks typically last 2 to 3 hours, including a short opening circle, a series of guided invitations to connect with nature, and a closing tea circle to ground and reflect.

4. How many people can join a group walk?

Up to 6 participants are welcome. The experience is designed to feel personal and meaningful.

5. What should we bring?

- Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing

- Water bottle

- Optional: a small towel or mat to sit on

- Curiosity and an open heart

6. What if it rains?

Light rain can actually deepen the forest experience! Walks will continue in gentle weather. However, in the case of severe conditions or storms, we’ll reschedule or offer a refund.

7. How do I book a walk?

You can request a private walk through email. Once submitted, Alissa will reach out to confirm details, location, and answer any additional questions. Your walk is officially reserved once payment is submitted via the secure Stripe link.

8. Can children join a private walk?

Absolutely, if they’re part of your group and able to engage respectfully in the space. Forest Therapy can be a beautiful, grounding experience for kids, especially when they’re accompanied by family.
